The Victoria/Tasmania State Committee has enjoyed a productive and rewarding period, with a strong focus on member engagement, professional development and planning for upcoming events.

A highlight was our recent visit to Tasmania where we had the opportunity to connect with local members and supporters at a successful networking event. These gatherings provide an invaluable opportunity to strengthen professional relationships, share ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing hospitality services across the health and aged care sectors.

During the visit we also toured Wrest Point Casino, the venue for this year's National Conference. The venue offers excellent conference facilities and stunning views of Hobart and we are excited about welcoming delegates from across Australia later this year. The visit provided an opportunity to review event spaces, discuss conference logistics and build enthusiasm for what promises to be an outstanding program of education, networking and industry collaboration.

Professional development continues to be a key priority for the committee and we have been delighted with the success of two recent national webinars.

The first webinar, Improving Visibility, Transparency and Productivity in Hospital Environmental Services, generated strong interest and highlighted innovative approaches to improving operational performance, accountability and service outcomes within healthcare environments.

Our second webinar, Decarbonising the Healthcare Sector with Plant-Based Foods, explored the important role that foodservice can play in supporting environmental sustainability goals. The session sparked excellent discussion around sustainable food systems, menu innovation and the opportunities available to healthcare organisations as they work towards reducing their environmental footprint.

The committee would like to thank our members and supporters for their ongoing participation and support. We look forward to continuing to deliver valuable networking opportunities, educational events and industry engagement activities throughout the remainder of the year.
