VIC/TAS Branch Report
Lisa Cranham VIC/TAS Branch Chair
As we move further into 2025, the Tasmanian and Victorian Committee members remain focused on collaboration, innovation and member engagement. This past month has seen exciting developments, valuable connections and continued momentum as we work together to support IHHC.
Hobart Meet and Greet & Conference Venue Exploration
In April, Kathy Manning and I visited Hobart to explore Wrest Point Casino as a potential venue for the 2026 IHHC National Conference. The visit was both productive and inspiring, showcasing Tasmania’s potential as a wonderful host state for our national event.
A highlight of the trip was the Friday night Meet and Greet with local members and supporters. This informal gathering included a guided tour of the proposed conference spaces and provided a valuable opportunity for networking and early discussions around local engagement. The enthusiasm shown by the Tasmanian supporters was encouraging and has set a positive tone for the road ahead.
Melbourne 2025 Conference Planning
The Victorian Committee continues to play a vital role in shaping the 2025 National Conference set to be held next month in Melbourne. From developing tour ideas and suggesting speakers to refining the conference theme and structure, their input has been instrumental in ensuring planning remains on track.
With our key speakers now announced, excitement is building as we enter the next phase of development. The program promises to reflect IHHC’s core pillars while addressing the evolving needs of our industry – making Melbourne 2025 a must-attend event.
AI & Automation in Healthcare Services Webinar
The committees also played a leading role in coordinating the recent national webinar on AI and automation in healthcare. The session attracted strong interest from members across the country, offering valuable insights into how technology is transforming healthcare hospitality. Thanks to the committee’s collaborative efforts, the event ran seamlessly and further reinforced IHHC’s commitment to innovation and forward thinking.
National Excellence Awards – Victoria
The Victorian Committee was delighted to host the State Excellence Awards night at Comcater. It was a wonderful evening that brought together members, supporters and colleagues to celebrate the incredible achievements across our industry.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the nominees – you should be immensely proud of the dedication, innovation and care you bring to your roles every day. Each nomination reflected the passion and professionalism that define healthcare hospitality in Victoria.
We also extend our thanks to Comcater for their generous support in hosting such a memorable event. Nights like these remind us of the importance of recognising those who make a real difference in the lives of patients, residents and visitors.
