SA Branch Report

John Boland SA Branch Chair

With another financial year wrapped up, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the SA committee for their dedication, energy and hard work over the past 12 months. Balancing professional responsibilities, personal lives and voluntary commitments can be challenging and I’m grateful to each member of the team for their continued support.

It has been a strong year for the SA Branch, with well-attended events and continued engagement throughout the year. The success of these activities reflects the incredible teamwork and shared commitment within our branch.

I was recently heartened to receive the following message which perfectly captures the value of our efforts:

“I recently heard some lovely feedback about the SA IHHC branch from Frank, the owner of Farmhouse Fresh, as well as the Victorian State Manager at CCI Services. They both commented on how active and engaging the SA team is and how highly they regard the incredible networking and connection fostered by you and your team.”
Lee Ruane, Souped Up

Feedback like this reminds us why we do what we do.

As always, thank you to all our State and National Supporters. We’re very fortunate to continue to receive strong supporter engagement in SA, with a total of 29 supporters – comprising 15 Platinum and 14 Gold. Your continued professional and financial backing is truly appreciated and we look forward to your continued support throughout the 2025/26 financial year.

Events

Since our last report we’ve hosted two well-received events:

Meet and Greet – Sturt Bowls Club
Held on Friday 2 May, this year’s Meet and Greet took on a refreshed format following feedback from our February committee meeting. We welcomed members and supporters to the Sturt Bowls Club in Adelaide for an informal evening of lawn bowls, a barbecue dinner and refreshments in the clubrooms. The committee handled all setup, cooking and cleanup – and the relaxed social environment was a hit. We also appreciated the generous food donations from our supporters which helped make the night a success.

Industry Breakfast – Griffin Hotel
Our final event of the financial year took place on Thursday 29 May at the Griffin Hotel Adelaide. Fifty guests enjoyed a buffet breakfast followed by a valuable interactive discussion focused on the New Aged Care Standards scheduled for implementation on 1 November, hosted by guest speaker Klara Huddleston from Plena Healthcare.

Building on themes from our previous breakfast event, we revisited the progress made since February and identified key gaps. Klara provided valuable insights to our audience and attendees also had the opportunity to share their experiences, challenges and successes on the journey towards aligning with the new Standards.

Membership

Following recent correspondence from our National President identifying dormant members, the committee is reviewing the list to reach out to individuals who may have unintentionally missed renewing their membership for 2025. If you’re reading this and haven’t yet renewed, we’d love to welcome you back to the IHHC community.

Thank you once again for your support and commitment. Here’s to another successful year ahead.

In closing, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for contributing to the ongoing success of the IHHC. Your commitment, collaboration and passion continue to make this organisation truly outstanding.

 JOHN
