The WA Branch has held two events in the last quarter. The first, ‘Emerging Trends in Commercial Kitchens’ was hosted in May by our new Gold Supporter Caterlink at their large showroom in Osborne Park.

It was a great success despite the shocking weather, with approximately 30 members, non-members and some supporters in attendance. Those present heard about trends in sustainability, the increasing popularity of induction cooking and relevant equipment options, along with flexible bar solutions. The event concluded with a tasty dinner cooked by a Botinkit robot chef. Our sincere thanks to Caterlink for the hospitality shown to everyone.

On 4 September we held our AGM and Excellence Awards Presentation Night at the Vibe Hotel in Subiaco. At the AGM all current committee members re-nominated, which was fantastic, so a huge thanks to them for their continued support.

The Excellence Awards followed the AGM. We had a fabulous response to our event with 50 members, supporters, non-members and award nominees attending. The Excellence Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our peers and acknowledge the contribution that they have made across healthcare in WA. It was a great night of networking over canapes and a few drinks. The photobooth was again very popular with some great fun snapshots to remember the night.

Congratulations to all nominees and of course to the winners of this year’s WA Branch Excellence Awards whom you can read about here. The winners now go into the running for the National Awards to be announced at the National Conference in Melbourne next month. We wish all our WA winners the best of luck.

Your WA committee is busy working on a number of exciting events for the remainder of this year and into 2026. Please look out for announcements in your email inbox as well as in the socials for details of all upcoming events. Of course, we will be finishing the year off with our usual Sundowner which this year will be something a little bit different, and will definitely be lots of fun!
